We compile and analyse long term (~10 year) submillimetre (1.3, 0.87, 0.43 mm, submm) wavelength light curves of the Galactic centre black hole, Sagittarius A*. The 0.87 and 0.43 mm data are taken from the literature, while the majority of the 1.3 mm light curve is from previously unpublished SMA and CARMA data. We present the discovery of a very cold, very low mass, nearby brown dwarf using data from the NASA Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE). The object, WISE J064723.23-623235.5, has a very red WISE color of W1-W2 > 3.77 mag and a very red Spitzer Space Telescope color of ch1-ch2 = 2.82+/-0.09 mag. We present {\it Gemini} longslit optical spectroscopy and VLA radio observations of the nuclear region of NGC 4178, a late-type bulgeless disk galaxy recently confirmed to host an AGN through infrared and X-ray observations.
